INDIE IMPACT STUDY SERIES, 2011-2012
Civic Economics is pleased to share the INDIE IMPACT STUDY SERIES, developed in partnership with the American Booksellers Association.

Over a 12 month period from November 2011 through October 2012, Civic Economics worked with small business organizations in ten American communities to survey independent, storefront businesses engaged in retail trade and food and beverage service. As with previous studies in Austin, Chicago, San Francisco, Phoenix, Grand Rapids, and New Orleans, we compared the recirculation of revenue in the local economy for participating independent businesses with that of major competitor chains.

In total, 106 retailers and 28 restaurants answered the survey. Reports were compiled for each community, as well as an aggregated national study summary.

Documents and charts are available for download below. Thank you for your interest.
